On Monday the children took part in an assembly to introduce ‘Children’s Mental Health week’. We began by recapping what emotional well-being is and what our school offers to support pupils. We then discussed the importance of being healthy, inside and out, with a focus on mental health, what it may look like and how we can support others and ourselves if we are struggling. The children will be exploring this further later on in the year as a whole school focus and throughout the PHSE curriculum. To follow on from the assembly we have asked the children to design a banner or poster with the catch phrase: Happy Mind, Happy Me. They can decorate and illustrate it however they wish but it must be eye- catching and informative as the winning design will be reproduced and used in each classroom as part of their Mental Health display.
