At CCJS we have a pupil led group who plan and facilitate our PSHE, Circle Time and Health and Safety topics in school. SPAM stands for ‘Special Projects And Messages!’ The group has put together a long term plan for PSHE topics to be covered. This includes anti-bullying work, staying safe in school and at home and various health topics.
The SPAM councillors attend a half termly meeting with Miss McGrath and one of our governors, feed – back to the teachers and the class following the meeting and then talk about the different activities that each year group will be doing. The first topic across school was new beginnings and responsibilities. The work produced is shared in a whole school assembly each half term.
‘The behaviour of pupils is outstanding. There is an extremely high level of mutual respect between all adults and pupils. Pupils have a remarkably positive attitude towards learning; they say that they really enjoy their school work because teachers make learning exciting. Pupils are polite and very considerate towards each other, both in class and around the school. Older pupils really appreciate the opportunities that they get to help younger friends.’
